The IPTC is the International Press Telecommunications Council, a global consortium and standards body for the news media industry. The IPTC creates and maintains the IPTC Photo Metadata Standard (such as IPTC Core and Extension), which embeds captions, keywords, copyright notices, and creator info directly into image files.
A part of this work, the IPTC has defined a set of Interoperability Tests which Photo2Graph has been successfully tested against to ensure compatibility. Photo2Graph does not read and write all metadata fields – it addresses the most important metadata for everyday photo cataloging.
